Welcome to the Woodpecker Woodcast Podcast page, home of the rare and elusive Woodpecker webcast. The call of these woodcasts is usually about 45 minutes featuring 9 or 10 bands (usually of the indie, folky, country, bluegrassy or otherwise persuasion) that we really like. I'm not gonna lie to you -— we are closer to Les Nesman than Venus Flytrap. We are huge dorks, though occasionally, we are funny and semi-informative dorks.

1,000 Artists performed at CMJ’s Music Marathon this year. There were 70 venues hosting the 5 day festival. Even if you were there, it wasn’t possible to see everything. The usual suspects rocked the mic, but so did hundreds of awesome unknowns. This episode is about the 10 best bands you probably missed or maybe haven’t even heard of yet!

Bower Birds, Michael Leviton, Jim Krewson, The Bowmans, The Future Kings of Nowhere, The Most Serene Republic, The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, The Smoke Fairies, Cotton Jones Basket Ride, My Teenage Stride, Songs For Ice Cream Trucks
